After unloading early in the morning and having a great handling car in practice, I qualified 6th at Southern National Motorsports Park for the late model. In the race, I got wrecked on lap 2 because someone wasn’t using their head, so a pretty frustrating night. A big thanks to Brad Brinkley, Graham, and Kevin for all the hard work and help. We had a great car all day and I know we would have been good in the race! We’ll keep our heads up and go get them next time!

We unloaded our #36 Wes Gonder Racing prepared chevy on Saturday and were fast right from the start! Around 3 o’clock the rain began and forced the event to be cancelled and postponed to another date.

I will be racing the #33 Wes Gonder prepared Chevy on Saturday in the CARS Pro Cup Series at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina! I had a tight car in my qualifying run on Saturday and had to start 11th, but I worked my way up to 3rd within 25 laps and I ended up finishing 4th in the first 75 lap race.

I started 4th in the second 75 lap race and on lap 3 a car turned down into me and we made contact and both our cars were cosmetically damaged. I had to come in the pits to remove some of the damage and we salvaged a 10th place finish. Not a bad start to the season.

Big thanks to Davis Roofing, Brad Brinkley, Graham Maxwell, Buck, Lecil, Blaise, and my parents for all the support and help. And a huge thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me the opportunity to drive race cars and for keeping me safe!

Myrtle Beach Speedway 400

WOW! What a Great 4 days at the beach.  The HRR Team consisting of Brad Brinkley, Kevin Spivey, Graham Maxwell and of course Harrison Rhodes had a Great time and an incredible race!  Harrison started the weekend with a win in his heat race which placed him in the 21st starting position for the MB 400. Harrison had an incredible car and was staying in the top 10 all race just riding not using up his tires until it was time to charge to the front.  Harrison made a charge at lap 200 of 250 and came across the finish line in 5th!  Great finish and was actually moved up 1 position when the 2nd place car was DQed placing Harrison in 4th!  This weekend could not have been successful without the help of Brad, Kevin and Graham.  Thanks so much for a Great ending to the 2011 year!

The HRR Team was on a rail for this event and was 11th fastest in practice out of 80 cars.  Harrison qualified 23rd for the biggest NASCAR Late Model Stock Car race of the year.  Harrison had a great car coming into this venue and was in the 14th position on lap 168 until he was caught up in an accident not of his own doing.  Harrison was officially scored 27th overall.  There were only 13 cars that finished this race out of 42.  A lot of carnage!  The HRR Team wants to thank Brad Brinkley, Graham and Kevin (Buck) for their time and commitment to making Harrison a success at Martinsville.  Now we move forward setting our sights to Myrtle Beach Speedway on Nov. 20 for the last race of the year.

Harrison had an incredible hot rod with thanks to Brad Brinkley.  The HRR Team is looking forward to the rest of the year with Brad calling the shots for Harrison.  We also want to give a big thanks to Lecil, Graham and Jesse Teetor for their awesome help on Saturday.  The HRR Team sets its sights on Martinsville on Oct. 9 and is hopeful for another great performance!
