JOLIET, Ill. – Harrison Rhodes brought the Chicago Blackhawks/Gerber Collision & Glass Chevrolet home 25th in Sunday’s Owens Corning AttiCat 300 Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.
After qualifying 21st for the race, Harrison was able to make his way into the top 10 and run there throughout the race. Rhodes battled a loose race car all day and eventually would end up in the 25th spot. Rhodes finished on the lead lap as the Gerber-sponsored car honored the championship Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. Harrison was driving his usal car for 1.5 mile tracks just with a #4 logo on the door, the number that is usually run by Ross Chastain who replaced Landon Cassill in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team’s No. 01 car.
“It was a pretty good day for us,” Rhodes said. “Any time we can bring the car home in one piece and finish strong on the lead lap, it’s a productive afternoon. I want to thank the Chicago Blackhawks & Gerber Collision & Glass for making this weekend possible. It was awesome to see how much local support we got from the Chicago area Blackhawk fans."
Rhodes, who qualified 21st, stayed 23rd in Xfinity driver points. The series races next at Daytona International Speedway July 4.
