Phoenix International Raceway: DC Solar 200
Saturday, March 18
Started: 20 Finished: 23
AVONDALE, Ariz. – Harrison Rhodes was the middle man in a remarkable finish for the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team at Phoenix International Raceway Saturday.
The three JD Motorsports drivers finished back-to-back-to-back – all on the lead lap – in the DC Solar 200 Xfinity Series race.
Rhodes was 23rd, while Ross Chastain took 22nd and Garrett Smithley 24th.
"We had our best qualifying result of the season (20th) and that helped us be able to stay on the lead lap in the first segment. We struggled a little bit with being loose on entry and tight in the center of the corner, but we continued to work on it throughout the race. It was fun racing my teammates for position at the end. Ross just barely got me by about 3 feet as we drag raced to the finish off of turn four. It was a strong finish for our whole JD Motorsports team at one of my favorite race tracks!"
The series moves on to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California for the race on March 25th.
